Bird Clubs and Organizations from New England

Since this is the Yankee Birder, it is only right that we feature Bird Clubs and Organizations from New England. For those passing through, New England is a northeastern region of the United States comprising the states of Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

Connecticut Ornithology Association
The Connecticut Ornithological Association is the only statewide organization devoted to birds and birding in Connecticut. Since its founding in 1981, its membership has grown to well over 500 people who range from beginning birders to professional ornithologists.


Stanton Bird Club
The Stanton Bird Club is made up of people from a wide range of ages and backgrounds, but they all share a love of nature in general and birds in particular.


Massachusetts Audubon Society
The largest conservation organization in New England, concentrating its efforts on protecting the nature of Massachusetts for people and wildlife. Mass Audubon protects 38,000 acres of land throughout Massachusetts, saving birds and other wildlife, and making nature accessible to all.
Cape Cod Bird Club
Founded in 1971. Cape Cod Bird Club members are dedicated to the protection and conservation of the bird life and natural resources of Cape Cod.
